The characteristic of a slurry pump is wear resistance, so do all accessories need to be made of wear-resistant materials? no. If all the accessories of the slurry pump are made of wear-resistant materials, the cost will be too high, and it is completely unnecessary. We only need to use wear-resistant materials for the accessories that come into contact with the slurry. These accessories are collectively called flow parts. The flow parts include: impeller, volute, and front and rear guards. Today, Panshi Pump Industry will talk about the volute.
Our AH, ZJ and other series of slurry pumps have a double pump shell structure, and the volute is also called a sheath. If it is a glue pump, it is divided into a front sheath and a rear sheath. There are three common materials: high chromium alloy A05 material, natural rubber material, and A49 material.
High chromium alloy material: commonly known as A05 or chromium 26. Its chromium content is generally around 26%. It is characterized by wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It is the most common material used in slurry pumps.
Natural rubber material: It is composed of a steel frame lined with rubber. It is characterized by its light weight and the lowest price compared to high-chromium alloy materials. However, its use has certain limitations. If the particles in the slurry have sharp corners, it is not recommended to use this material, because the sharp corners will scratch the rubber and reduce the service life. If the lift required on site is too high, it is not recommended to use this material. Because the lift is high, the rotation speed will also increase, which can easily cause degumming and reduce the service life.
A49 material: This material is mostly used in desulfurization sites. It is characterized by acid resistance and corrosion resistance. But the price will be higher than the first two materials.
Of course, there are more than these three materials for the flow parts in slurry pumps, there are also cast iron materials, ceramic lining, polyurethane materials, 316L materials, etc. These materials are not commonly used materials.
