Shaft seal device of horizontal wear-resistant slurry pump

Since the pump shaft of the slurry pump rotates and the pump casing is fixed, there will be a certain gap at the connection between the shaft and the pump casing. In order to prevent the high-pressure liquid in the pump from leaking along the gap or preventing outside air from entering the pump, the horizontal slurry pump must be equipped with a shaft seal device.
There are generally three types of shaft sealing devices for horizontal slurry pumps, packing seals, impeller seals and mechanical seals. The stuffing seal has a stuffing box into which the stuffing is packed. The stuffing box is a sealing ring made by passing the pump shaft through the gap of the pump casing, and filling it with stuffing, such as oil-immersed or graphite-coated asbestos rope. The mechanical seal is composed of a moving ring mounted on the pump and another stationary ring fixed on the pump casing. The end faces of the two rings are pressed against each other by spring force and rotate relative to each other. Mechanical seals are suitable for sites with high sealing requirements and for transporting corrosive slurries.
