In our daily use, sometimes there is a problem that the lift of our slurry pump cannot be reached. What is going on? Pansto Pump Industry will list several reasons that affect the lift for you.
First of all, insufficient lift means that the outlet pressure of the slurry pump cannot meet the needs of on-site working conditions. There are many reasons for this result:
1. Confirm whether cavitation occurs in the slurry pump. There is a certain amount of air mixed in the liquid. As the pressure gradually decreases, the solubility of the gas in the liquid will become smaller, forming bubbles. When the bubbles burst, the gas will hit the surface of the part at high speed, causing damage to the impeller, and its destructive power is quite strong. This phenomenon is called cavitation. Cavitation will affect the pump head, so we need to check whether there is cavitation.
2. Is the impeller seriously worn? Because our slurry pump mainly relies on the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the impeller to transport the slurry. If our slurry pump is used for a period of time, the impeller will definitely wear. As for the time and degree of wear, it depends on the slurry on site. If the impeller is found to be severely worn, it is necessary to replace the impeller.
3. Check whether the motor speed is lower than the required speed of the slurry pump. Slurry pumps are generally driven by motors, and the rated speed of the motor is fixed. For example, the rated speed of the 2-stage motor is 2980 rpm, the rated speed of the 4-stage motor is 1480 rpm, etc. If our pump and motor are driven by a belt, then we need to see if the matching pulley can reach the speed required by the pump.
4. Check the pipeline and pump chamber for air leaks.
5. Adjust the outlet valve. If the lift continues to fail to increase, you can close the outlet valve a little smaller and allow the slurry pump to hold pressure to increase the lift.
The above points are the common reasons why the lift fails to increase. You can give it a try. If you still can't solve your on-site problem, you can also contact us and let our technical experts help you troubleshoot and solve it.
