This installation method can effectively reduce vacuum cavitation, but gas cavitation still exists. In the previous article, we analyzed that the cause of gas cavitation is due to the mixture of bubbles in the liquid. Therefore, the main measure to prevent cavitation is to try to prevent bubbles from entering the pump.
What are the causes of bubbles forming in liquids? 1. There are hidden bubbles in the pores of the solid particles in the slurry. These bubbles mix into the liquid and flow into the pump with the liquid. 2. The hydraulic impact when the liquid enters the slurry pool will cause the liquid to roll and form bubbles. 3. Due to backflow, too low liquid level, small size of the slurry pool or unreasonable position of the suction port, a vortex is formed in the suction port and gas is brought in. 4. The sealing device on the suction pipe wall or the shaft seal packing part of the pump is not tightly sealed, causing air to enter. 5. Bubbles generated after adding foaming agent or special additives.
Knowing the causes of bubbles, we can reduce or even avoid gas cavitation by taking effective solutions to these causes.
