When we were designing on site, we thought that one slurry pump would be sufficient for each section. In fact, this is not the case. Many experienced design units will design at least two pumps for each section, one for use and one for backup. The reason for this design is When the slurry pump fails, the backup pump is activated so that it will not affect our production. So are they all one-use and one-preparation? If the flow rate is large, is it more efficient to use two small pumps connected in parallel, or to use one large pump directly? Shijiazhuang Pansto Pump Industry, today we will show you how to determine the number of units.
For a slurry pump that operates normally, it is generally sufficient to use a large pump. Because the efficiency of a large pump is higher than that of a small pump, so from the perspective of energy saving, choose a large pump instead of two small pumps in parallel.
If a pump requires 50% backup rate, it can be designed for two uses and one backup, that is, three pumps.
Also, for large pumps, pumps with 70% flow requirements can be selected for parallel operation without a backup pump. In this way, when one pump is being inspected, the other one can still produce 70% of the delivery capacity.
If the site requires continuous operation 24 hours a day, you need to design one for operation, one for maintenance, and one for backup, a total of three.
