The flow rate of the slurry is directly related to the diameter of the pipeline connected to the slurry pump. Generally, the larger the pipe diameter, the slower the flow rate, and the smaller the pipe diameter, the faster the flow rate. So what pipe diameter should you choose and what flow rate is appropriate? Today, the slurry pump manufacturer will take you to understand the relationship between flow rate and pipe diameter.
Generally, when we choose the pipe diameter, we will control the flow rate at 2.5m/s-3.5m/s. If the flow rate is too high, the service life of the pipeline will be reduced. If the flow rate is too small, the liquid will cause sedimentation in the pipeline, eventually causing the pipeline to be blocked. This will reduce the flow rate on our site or even cause no flow rate.
Now that we know a better flow rate range, how do we determine how large a pipeline can get such a flow rate? We have a formula to calculate: the flow rate is represented by V.
V=4Q/3.14*D2*3600
At this time, Q refers to the flow rate of the pump, and D refers to our pipe diameter. When we usually calculate, we will assume a pipe diameter and put it into the formula for a trial calculation to see if the V obtained is appropriate. If the V obtained is too large, increase D a little. If V is too small, then Reduce D some. Until the appropriate V is calculated, you can confirm the appropriate size of the pipeline.
