When our site cannot use backflow installation, we will recommend customers to use submersible slurry pumps or vertical slurry pumps. So what is the difference between these two pumps?
A submersible slurry pump is one in which the entire pump is not submerged in the water, including its motor. Its advantage is that it is easy to install. Just connect the pipeline directly to the outlet and then put it into the slurry. Generally, a crane or excavator will be used to move it. Its installation position is not fixed in one place and can be moved at any time. But it has a disadvantage that it cannot completely drain out the slurry. Because it cannot work out of the water, once it comes out of the water, the motor will burn out.
Vertical slurry pump, also known as submersible slurry pump, has a mounting plate, and the components below the mounting plate are not in the slurry. Its installation generally requires fixed installation. In some sites, two channel steels will be placed on the top of the pool, and then the submersible pump will be installed on the channel steels. Its motor is on the water. Its advantage over a submersible pump is that it can evacuate the slurry pool, even for a short period of time.
