Common on-site working conditions generally contain solid particles, long fibers, and corrosive liquids, etc. Therefore, when selecting a submersible pump for the site, we need to first understand the characteristics of the slurry on site and the characteristics of each material of the slurry pump. Only then can you choose a slurry pump that is efficient and durable.
Our submersible pumps generally come in two conventional materials: cast iron and high chromium alloy.
If there is only sewage in the slurry, then cast iron can be used. Its price is relatively low and cost-effective. But if there are a large number of solid particles in the slurry, you need to choose a slurry pump made of high chromium alloy. It has higher wear resistance and its service life will be much longer than that of cast iron.
Of course, in addition to these two materials, there is also stainless steel, which is more suitable for pumping acidic slurries. Its corrosion resistance will be better, but it is not wear-resistant.
