Before running the horizontal slurry pump, you should manually turn the pump to ensure that the pump impeller can rotate normally. So if the hand plate pump does not move, can the slurry pump be started directly? The answer is no! So why?
The horizontal slurry pump disc does not move, indicating that there is an internal failure of the pump. This failure may be caused by the impeller being stuck or the pump shaft being excessively bent, or the dynamic and static parts of the pump being rusted, or the pressure inside the pump being too high. If the pump plate is not moving but is forcibly started, the powerful motor will generate force and drive the pump shaft to rotate forcibly, which will cause damage to internal parts, such as the pump shaft breaking and twisting, the impeller being damaged, the motor burning, the motor tripping, etc.
Therefore, when we manually disc the pump, if the disc does not move, we need to disassemble the pump to check where the problem is. We will try the manual disc pump after solving the fault. If the disc pump can work normally, it should be able to start normally.
